A soldier killed in a blast while on foot patrol in Afghanistan has been named as Territorial Army Rifleman Mark Marshall by the Ministry of Defence. The Exeter-born police worker, a member of 6th Battalion, the Rifles, was killed by a roadside bomb north-east of Sangin, in Helmand province, on Sunday. He was serving as the "point man" with 3 Rifles Battle Group, charged with clearing the improvised bombs.
