Keeping the gun

Following two attacks over the weekend – during which a police officer and the country’s Policing Board headquarters were targeted – Northern Ireland is again shown the threat posed by dissident republicans. BBC Ireland correspondent Mark Simpson looks at the different factions refusing to give up the gun and the bomb. The weight of public opinion is against continued violence in Northern Ireland but dissident republicans seem more determined than ever to kill.
