The prophet Muhammad when he entered Medina the first thing he did is established mosque and all the political and religious decisions are taken from their. Few main roles of mosques were
1) To act as a place of guidance and Research
2) To act as a place to stay for orphans
3) To pray in jam-ah
4) To talk about the day to day problem face by the community and derive a solution which is in line to islam
5) To provide shelter to homeless
6) To act as a resting place for muslim traveler
7) For muslim people to gather at one place in the time crisis For distribution of wealth to the poor
9) To act as information kiosk for questions regarding religion
Unfortunately people forgot the true purpouse of mosque and they use it just like prayer hall. If you read about Medina period of Prophet Muhammad you would Truly understand the purpouse of mosque. During the time of prophet it was the head quarter for muslims. All the decision politically and religious ones were taken here
yes i can, they are place for "basij" in iran witch is a part of goverment for inforcing religion to people with guns and power in everyway, for example they throw people with less than complete hejab in jail or hit them they set out road blocks … they do things like that… and people who join them well they have a great life theyre even getting into universitys easier than anyone else
they learn to love each other
to help poors
they fast to feel poors feelings
they learn not to be Racial
they learn that no god except allah
and love all the prophets from adam to mohammed
and so on
