Where in the Quran or in any other religious book does it say not praying is haram?

I just wanted to prove the point to my sister because I want her to do the right thing.

first of all.. ur statement is abit incorrect..
haram refers to a sin or something forbidden..
and not praying is not regarded as a sin.. but.. it means going "against" God’s orders..

secondly dear.. you should know that prayers are in "every" religion.. it only differs in the way they are performed.. its in judaism, christianity, buddhism…etc

in the Quran God has commanded to perform daily prayers.. just like he’d commanded to fast the specified month (Ramadan).. just like he’d commanded to pay the compulsory ‘zakat’ (charity) to the poor…etc
so in islam if a muslim chooses not to do any of these commandments.. and he/she dies on this state.. then he/she shall be regarded as an infidel after death..

Prayer is the second pillar of Islam making it one of the most significant acts in Islam. You are only exempted from performing the five daily prayers if you’re retarded or if you don’t have any legs or something or if you’re a decrepit old person. You also don’t have to pray when you’re pregnant or menstruating.

    for example:
"woe that day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! And when it is said to them: "Bow down yourself (in prayer)!" They bow not down (offer not their prayers) . " (77: 47, 48)

there are countless verses in quran, better tell her to read it
