Why do Muslims cry when they listen to the Quran being recited?
i have most muslim friends ,most of a time when they have been celebration of a mass a Quran or listening to it they get all romantic as well as most begin crying??
quran is the words of god sent down to earth by god through prophet muhammad. in this book, it contains all messages from the creator, our sustainer. for those who really understand what is said by the quran, he will feel very sad and guilty for what they had done on earth. and all praise be to Allah, it is said in the quran that only for the true muslim who will cry and bow to the words of god.
The indoctrination in muslim culture is stronger than you can imagine. It’s child abuse, just check the Ramadan section and you’ll see questions by muslim youths agonizing over shame from engaging in normal human behavior like masturbation.

The common reasons would be either love or fear.
I have a Christian friend who read the surah Maryam (Mary) and cannot stop crying.

Bcoz of the language, the eloquence in the speech, poetic and heart touching words Allah uses to convey His message.
Not everyone can experience this but for those who understands arabic and are pious.
